Introduction to Canadian Education

This program is designed for refugee youth aged 6 to 17 who are awaiting placement in Canadian schools. The youth are prepared in English language skills development, recreational activities, computer skills and provides psycho-social education.

Classes are divided by age. Class 1 is for children aged 6 to 11 years and Class 2 is for youth aged 12 to 17 years.


Activities:

  • Developing English skills through Education, Recreation and Settlement
  • Interaction with technology
  • Monthly family gathering


The classes cover 4 weekly topics:

  • Education/Employment
  • Health/Nutrition
  • Safety/Law
  • Places/Community


Individual or group psycho-social support is provided by social workers
